When you ride fast on the flat, most of your effort doesn't go into beating the gradient or tarmac friction: it goes into pushing aside the air in front of you. And the component that presents the most surface to that air isn't the bike, it's you. That is why, in triathlon and time trials, rider position is the most cost-effective performance lever there is: done right, it saves more watts than almost any equipment upgrade.
CarboXtrem TT Aerobars come from exactly that idea: bringing racing engineering to your aero position, with a part made to your measurements so you can hold an aggressive posture for hours without paying for it in comfort or control.
They are triathlon and time trial extensions designed to place your forearms and hands in the optimal aerodynamic position, narrowing your body's frontal area and directing the airflow as cleanly as possible. They are not a generic catalogue aerobar: each unit is built adjusting length, width and geometry to your biomechanical parameters, so the position is both fast and sustainable.
The goal is twofold: maximum airflow efficiency and maximum power transfer. An aero position you can't hold is useless —you end up sitting up and giving away everything you gained—; that is why the custom fit is the heart of the product.
It is worth clearing up a common misunderstanding here. People often assume that, because it is a technical, customisable component, the aerobars come out of a 3D printer. They don't. The main body of the CarboXtrem TT is built from hand-laid high-modulus carbon fibre (T1000 grade), with a fibre orientation pattern calculated to deliver precise torsional stiffness and selective damping.
What does that mean in practice? That the fibre is oriented where the load demands it: stiff where you need every watt to arrive intact, and able to absorb micro-vibrations where comfort makes the difference over long distances. It is hand lay-up craftsmanship that a single-pass printed part cannot replicate.
3D printing, on the other hand, is reserved for what really benefits from it: certain parts and, above all, the arm pads, where a lattice optimised for each rider does a job foam can't match. Carbon where stiffness rules; printing where cellular geometry rules. Each technology in its place.
The elbow rest system uses 3D pads with Carbon DLS technology (the same family of processes behind Carbon3D) in EPU material, an elastomeric polyurethane. Its progressive structure —a lattice— behaves like micro-vibration suspension: it absorbs road impacts without compromising lateral stability, exactly what you need to hold your line at full speed.
Unlike a foam pad, this lattice can be tuned in density zone by zone, doesn't build up heat in the same way and doesn't compress over months of use. If you want to dig deeper into how these rests are fitted, take a look at our custom arm rest pads.
The CarboXtrem TT profile is designed to deliver a very low drag coefficient —CarboXtrem compares it to that of a Formula 1 car— and, in race position, it can optimise up to 25 W of effort compared with a conventional setup. To give you an idea, 25 W sustained is the difference between reaching T2 with legs left or arriving completely spent.
The 30º grips place the wrist at a biomechanically neutral angle, which reduces forearm muscle strain and improves postural stability: you hold the position longer and with less fatigue. They are available in single or double grip configurations and integrate mounts for electronic shifters and internal cable routing, so the surface stays clean and free of parasitic turbulence.
CarboXtrem TT aerobars are compatible with all standard handlebars on the market and ensure a precise axial fit, with the structural strength of a part designed for racing. If you already ride aero and want to take the next step towards a pro position, the Mantis System brings your hands to the centre to narrow your frontal area even further.

CarboXtrem TT aerobars are designed for the triathlete who wants to save watts on the bike leg without destroying their legs for the run, and for the road time triallist looking for a real, sustainable race position. In short: for anyone who understands that time trials are won —or lost— in the details you can't see.
No. The main body is high-modulus carbon fibre laid up by hand, with a fibre orientation calculated for precise torsional stiffness. 3D printing is reserved for certain parts and the support pads/lattices.
Yes. Each unit is adjusted in length, width and geometry to your biomechanical parameters, to maximise airflow and power transfer.
Their profile optimises up to 25 W in race position compared with a conventional setup, with a drag coefficient we compare to that of a Formula 1 car.
Yes, with all standard handlebars on the market, ensuring a precise axial fit.
Both configurations are available, with 30º grips and integration for electronic shifters and internal cable routing.
If you want a race-grade aero position you can hold kilometre after kilometre, CarboXtrem TT Aerobars are made to your measurements to get you there. Formula 1 aerodynamics, measurable efficiency and handcrafted engineering.
